How we build
The 10+1 Principles of Lost Paradise
-
01
Radical Inclusion
Anyone may be a part of Lost Paradise. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation.
-
02
Gifting
Lost Paradise is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.
-
03
Decommodification
Lost Paradise seeks to create an environment free from commercial sponsorships, transactions and advertising.
-
04
Radical Self-Reliance
Radical Self-Reliance encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on their own inner resources. Each person takes responsibility for their own needs, choices and wellbeing.
-
05
Radical Self-Expression
Radical Self-Expression is an invitation to express yourself freely and authentically. There is no prescribed way to look, dress, create, move, speak or be. Each person determines how they wish to express themselves, while respecting the freedom of others to do the same.
-
06
Communal Effort
Communal Effort is based on creative cooperation and collaboration. Together, participants create the spaces, art, experiences and connections.
-
07
Civic Responsibility
Those who organise and participate in Lost Paradise assume responsibility for public welfare and for conducting themselves in accordance with the laws and customs of Thailand.
-
08
Leaving No Trace
Leaving No Trace means taking responsibility for the environmental impact of our presence. Everything brought into a gathering is taken out, and the places we visit are left in a better state than we found them.
-
09
Participation
Lost Paradise is radically participatory. The experience is shaped by the people who take part. What happens and is created here is brought to life by the people who show up, contribute and participate.
-
10
Immediacy
Be here. Be open to what is happening around you. Give yourself to the experience, the people, the place and the moment.
